Colchester Fibre was proud to have been chosen as the connectivity partner for the 2023 fireworks display in Castle Park. Working with King Coel’s Kittens, the Mercury Theatre and the Colchester Events Company, we deployed a reusable WiFi solution to enable rapid scanning of almost 9000 digital tickets for the event. Our innovative use of wireless technology and Colchester’s ever-growing fibre network meant we could mobilise and deploy a solution very rapidly.
A large part of Castle Park has free, high-speed public WiFi for visitors. This includes the area around the War Memorial and in front of Colchester Castle, the park cafe, the bandstand garden area and the large common next to the Roman Road entrance. Additionally, we provide gigabit connectivity to the cluster of administrative and operational buildings in the rangers’ cluster.
